How They Met

The three met where the buses stop running and the corner lamps do not. Green Beanie knew every back gate. Blue Hood kept the middle of the street. Violet Headset heard trouble before it turned the corner. Nobody signed anything. They simply stayed. By dawn, every stoop had a witness and every alley knew the same three faces.
